Moving can be stressful, but with a good plan, you can make it much easier. This guide is for people on who are relocating, covering everything from logistics to maintaining your routine.
Before You Move
The key to a smooth move is preparation. Start planning several weeks in advance.
Plan Your Cycle: This is a big one. Consider your moving date when planning you cycle. If possible, a good idea is to schedule your move during a smart & a period of lower intensity training. This will help minimize stress on your body and make it easier to maintain consistency.Secure Your Supplies: Make sure you have enough of your current supply to last you through the move and for a week or two afterward, especially if you’re moving to a new area where it may take time to find a new source. If you’re traveling, check local and international laws regarding carrying these substances. It’s often safer to ship items separately. Find a New Gym: 🏋️‍♂️ Research gyms in your new location ahead of time. Look for one that fits your needs—whether you prefer a powerlifting gym, a bodybuilder-friendly spot, or a commercial gym with great equipment. Having a gym lined up will help you get back into your routine quickly.
The Move Itself
Moving day is all about execution. Stick to your plan and stay focused.
Pack Smart: If you need to transport needles, syringes, or vials, pack them securely and discreetly. Use a hard case or a padded box to prevent breakage. For sharps, a sharps container is the safest option.Prioritize Nutrition: 🍳 Moving is physically demanding, so don’t let your nutrition slide. Pack a cooler with pre-cooked meals or healthy snacks to ensure you have good food on hand. Protein shakes and bars are a lifesaver for quick protein boosts. Staying hydrated is also crucial—keep a water bottle with you at all times.Stick to Your Routine (as much as possible): Even with the chaos of moving, try to get in some form of physical activity. A quick workout in the morning can help reduce stress. Don’t worry if it’s not a full session; even a lighter workout is better than nothing. Your body will thank you later.
After You’ve Settled In
You’ve made it! Now it’s time to get back on track.
Unpack the Essentials First:Â Set up your kitchen so you can cook meals. Unpack your gym gear and any other items you’ll need to get your routine back on track.Establish a New Routine:Â It might take a few days to find your rhythm in a new place. Don’t rush it. Once you’re settled, get back to the gym and your regular training schedule.Find a New Doctor/Clinic (if needed):Â If you require blood work or other medical services, research and find a new healthcare provider in your area. This is an important step for anyone on AAS to ensure they’re staying on top of their health.
Shipping a Vehicle 🚗
Shipping a car, truck, or motorcycle can be a confusing process, but it’s a great option if you don’t want to drive it yourself.
Research Auto Transport Companies: Look for companies that are licensed and insured. Get quotes from at least three different companies and read reviews online.Prepare Your Vehicle: Before the shipping company picks up your vehicle, clean it out completely. Take photos of the car from all angles to document its condition. This will help in case of any damage claims. Choose Your Shipping Method: There are two main options:
Open Carrier:Â This is the most common and affordable option. Your vehicle will be transported on a trailer with other cars, exposed to the elements.Enclosed Carrier:Â This is more expensive but offers maximum protection from weather and road debris. It’s a great choice for luxury or classic cars.
- Coordinate the Drop-off: Â Make sure you’re available to meet the driver at both the pickup and delivery locations to inspect the vehicle and sign the paperwork.
